Abstract. Article reviews efficient utilization of cloudlets in city-scale mobile cloud computing networks. Processing of user requests on cloudlets near to them eliminates network latencies and results are delivered to users faster, which leads to reduced energy consumption of mobile devices. Simultaneously, multiple connection points between mobile device and cloudlets results in increasing number of breaks in connection channels and problems in security issues. Article proposes an algorithm to that ensures utilization of hierarchically-structured cloudlet-based mobile cloud computing networks and a minimum number of connection channels between mobile devices and cloudlets in order to eliminate these problems. |
