Abstract. This article is devoted to assessing the impact of energy consumption in wireless sensor networks on the fault tolerance of cyber-physical systems (CPS). The study highlights the importance of effective energy management to ensure the stability and reliability of CPS, especially in the context of sensor networks where energy resources are limited. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the measures necessary for the effective implementation of CPS. The sustainability of CPS is also scrutinized through the evaluation of various performance metrics, including reliability, flexibility, accuracy, cybersecurity, and energy security. A detailed review of existing research is conducted to analyze the effectiveness of current energy efficiency algorithms in improving the fault tolerance of CPS. The article provides a critical assessment of these algorithms, highlighting their advantages and limitations in the context of sensor networks. In addition, the paper identifies directions for future research aimed at assessing and ensuring the reliability and resiliency of CPS. It highlights the need for innovative energy management approaches that can adapt to the dynamic nature of sensor networks and changing CPS requirements. |
